Flight of the Week - Absolutely Incredible Graphics

Here is a video I (the author this site) have made to accompany the 'Flight of the Week' section of this site found either by clicking on the the 'Flight of the Week' tab on the frontpage menu or directly by clicking on this link http://flightsimvideos.blogspot.com/p/flight-of-week.html which will provide you with a flight plan, screenshots and a detailed outline of the flight.

I think that the graphics in this video are particularly impressive, especially the water and sky textures. This is one of my favourite parts of the world to visit or fly in.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. This video is best viewed in 1080p.

  1. Hi mate,

I've just got into this game and I enjoy it so much that I now want to invest into a good computer that can play this at its full pontential. What parts would you recommend?

    Regards,
    Jason

  2. Hi Jason,

It would depend on your budget. The best computer you could get for FSX would look something like this:

Power Supply: Antec Quattro 1200W Modular Power Supply
    - CPU: Intel Core i7 980X 3.33GHz overclocked to 4.20GHz
    - Motherboard: Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
    - Cooler: Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B CPU Cooler with Sharkoon 1200RPM Fan
    - RAM: Corsair Dominator 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
    - Hard Drives: Crucial RealSSD C300 128GB 2.5" -and any decent normal drive - fsx likes solid state drives or regular drives with a speed of 10,000rpm such as the Velocoraptor
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 480 1536MB GDDR5 - or wait for the 485 version coming soon

They're the main components though the processor is pricey. If you want value for money I'd get the i7 930 processor instead and overclock to 4.2gz using a good cooler. You could also get acheaper Gigabyte motherboard.

The I7 is the way to go and Nvidia 480 is the best gpu on the market. Don't get an Sli as it makes no difference in fsx.
